How I feel

Past: 
This pictures represents how I felt this semester, it was hard and I ended like Bugs but also I enjoyed a lot. It was a good semester in all fields, I studied hard and I had a lot of fun too haha.

    

Present:
Today I feel freedom ♪. I feel that I can do more things now haha and be worried about nothing (at least during the next 2 months). Also, I feel in balance. Goodbye semesterrrr!



Future:
This boy represents me, I think that I would be so happy during my holidays. I have a lot of plans that I think will make me smile all day. Nothing is gonna be important.

English Language Challenges

Hello!!!! this is my final post and I think that I don't want to know ever in my life about a english blog hahaha I'm just kidding. 

This semester (and the past semester) was a good experience, I learnt a lot and the activities were always fun. The english course of the University is very different to the english class that I had in school, the teachers are more motivated (except for the blond teacher), comprehensive and even they know more.

I like doing the blogs even when I have days that I was so exhausted, it helped me to know more about my classmates and friends, they have nice stories to tell. It's sad to think that all that we learnt in this semester is destined to be forgotten haha, I really don't want to forget everything!, because english is necessary (specially in our career), and it's awesome to be able to read things in another language. Sometimes the information that we need is only in english, also it's useful to understand memes!! (why else would you want to learn english?)

Not mine, of course

I think that my english doesn't have anything to improve haha no, I have to learn a lot of grammar and vocabulary. The first option to do this is to study and put effort to be better in my english and the second option is to travel to another country and learn there. I hope to do both!!, but maybe it's going to be difficult, the second option is easier.

To practice my english I have my elder brother and my sister, they know a lot of english, sometimes we talk in english haha but I don't know if I'll improve my english with that, maybe It'll just be a way to remember what I know so I don't forget what I've already learnt.

Outside the class I use english to read papers that are sent to us in the faculty or to investigate things related to dentistry that are only in english. Also, I use to read things that were interesting for me and are in english like blogs, articles, music, , etc. English is everywhere

Changes

Hi! I'm ending this semester, so today I'm going to talk about changes that I think could be made to my study program.

Dentistry, oh I love you and I hate you haha, but the things that make me hate you could be changed. I know that in other places, other careers, faculties and even other countries you aren't so heavy! And still have a good quality.

But the days still seem the same ♪

Related to subjects that we must study I think that they are ok, three years ago the curriculum changed, so my new generation have very interesting subjects like "Anthropology", "Prevention and Promotion of the Health" that other generations doesn't had. Unfortunately I feel that we don't have enough time to give them the importance and time that their need (and this is not just in my generation). Maybe it is neccesary to rethink the time that we have for each course. We study 6 years and mmm not sure if all those years are good distributed. We are humans not robots!! :(

Yale University; same as in dentistry

Related to infrastructure, clinical and preclinical could be repaired. Sometimes the lights don't work, things are broken, in clinic they don't have the necessaty space, etc. Also, I would repair the cafeteria hahah I hate all about that place, the menu, the tables, the chairs, the service, ALL! haha and I would improve the green areas of the faculty (If we have). Although the last two things that I write are not directly related to the career, I think that it is necessary to have these things in good condition because we past a lot of time in the faculty !!, we need to eat healthy and good and we need grass and trees to be under them ​​(is good for our health).

Sometimes teaching methods are questionable, are they really effective? Exist a better way to do the things ?. We have great teachers, excellents in fact, but we also have unfair teachers who make think why they are teaching if they don't want and are so bad in that? Haha

I think that the list is long, but I don't want to bore you. Finally I want to say that all of us can make of this faculty a better place, we can not change everything but little things make the difference. Bye!

Movies or series I like

Hello today I'm going to talk about my favorite movies or series. Actually I love see series, but in the last time I don't have too much time to see it. 

I use netflix to watch my series because I hate search movies on internet, on account of the quality isn't always the better, you can get virus or things like that, and you have to wait a lot for the movie charge; maybe my conection is too slowly  haha or perhaps I don't have the talent to search them, because I have friends that are very good in that. 

At this moment I'm watching a serie named "The Fall", is about Stella Gibson a Metropolitan Police Superintendent who is working to find and capture a serial killer.!!. Generally I like crime drama series, like "Dexter" or "Sherlock", who have plot very similar but each one are very different in their way to present the theme. The last one is a serie that I love!! is very good, unfortunately just have a few chapters. 

I love them

A classic series to me, that means that everyone have to see one day is "How I Met Your Mother". This series is a sitcom from 2005 and go on for 9 years!!. I imagine that is like the modern version of "Friends" (is from 1994). 

The series is about the adventures of Ted Mosby (the architect, if you know what I mean haha) and how he met the mother of his children. The story begin when he lived in New York City with her best friends, Lily, Marshall, Robin and Barney. You can't live if you don't know who is Barney!, is a very fun character haha. In fact, all are very interesting and fun, their have many adventures and histories to relate. Also, every chapter is short (22 min approximately), what is a advantage if you don't have much time. I really recommend to you this series, you will not regret!.

Summer Holidays

Today I'm going to talk about my summer holidays. .

This summer I plan to travel with my family to the south of Chile and also travel with my sister to another country, the last one at this moment is becoming a trouble because the tickets are too expensive (we didn't buy before because of me, so if I don't go I deserve it). We wanted to go to Colombia but maybe finally we are going to Brazil (I don't want to go there).

In the south of Chile we aren't going to visit anyone, we are going there just to enjoy!. There I hope do some sport, like rafting and swiming a lot in the river. Of course during the holidays we have more time so it's the perfect time to see our friends (I love that).

Actually, I prefer any place to travel except the north of Chile or places with too much sun and without shade. To me, holidays are to do things that are different from what we usually do, so anything that means not being in the house all day dying from heat is good.

Related to food, I prefer food with more vegetables than meat because in my house we don't cook so much meat, it's bad for our health! (but sometimes it's delicious) and also I'm so complicated to eat meat, because I don't like pork, cold cuts, rare meat or insides (somedays I don't like chicken too).

I almost forgot that in this summer I want to workkk!!, plus I really need to save money so if you have any information tell me haha,

Feminist Movement

Hello!! today I'm going to write about feminist movement, a topic that really attracts me.

I remember that when I was a child, I thought a little about this thing but I didn't know what it was. I remember that my mother made my sisters and I set the table and I thought WHY?, why my dad or my brother didn't do that? In that moment I didn't receive any answer, and I thought that not even my mom knew why, she was repeating the things that she learnt her whole life. Years later I got the answer to all those questions (not just set the table, of course) male sexism!!!!.

I started to know more about this when I was in high school, I was in a girl's school so there the teachers always were letting us know that we were good, and that we have the same rights and abilities (especially this) than men have. And in third grade of high school I had an awesome teacher in Literature that made us always feel proud and motivated to release and to empower as a women.

I think that we have the responsability as a generation to stop all the sexist practices and the tiny things that make that the male be above female. Many times we didn't even  know that we were reproducing things that we didn't want.

Postgraduate Studies

Hello!! today I'm going to write about postgraduate studies, actually nowadays I don't know what I want to study after studying dentistry. Why we have to have a speciality? it's already six yearsssss!!!, (if you are lucky) but I know that finally I'm going to study something related to the career after ending my programme. 

I'd like to study something related with public health, or with maxillofacial surgery or even with orthodontics. The last one is a new interest for me, even though in the past I said like a hundred times that I would never study something related with that speciality.

You can even look smarter, only with orthodoncy

 

I think that studying abroad is an awesome experience, I wish to do that one day . I have the certainty that I will live in other country sometime, maybe to study or to work, I don't know. I think that you can learn a lot if you study in other places, like new techniques, or how the health system functions there. 

A thought that really attracts me, is working as "general de zona" - who is the person in charge of a rural zone- in the south of Chile and after that study an speciality (you don't have to pay the postgraduate, but you have to work for the public system, which is awesome).

Don't forget it!

Now, I prefer a face-to-face course to learn, but maybe in the future I will have to work if I want to study, so a part time course could be a good option.

Finally, I have to say that no matter what I study, I hope to be happy with what I do. In this moment, is like a huge dream; to work helping people and changing their lives (specially if is in the south of Chile) and I wish to accomplish that one day.

Paranormal Experiences

Hello!!, today I'm going to talk about Paranormal Experiences!!. Many people don't believe or don't want to believe in these things, I'm in that last group. Also, I tend to rationalize those kinds of things, so I usually forget my paranormal experiences, but strangely all these things really attract me (the unknown is always attractive)

When I was a child, my parents sent me to bed because it was late, and left all my siblings
up (why did they do that to me????????? I dont know). So I had to go upstairs and go alone to bed. At that time I always went with my sisters to bed, because I was afraid of darkness and of sleeping alone I sat in the last step of the stairs, and I could hear my family downstairs (so sad). And suddenly I heard that in my parents' bed (a wooden bed) something or someone got on it, the wooden planks have a very characteristic sound. In that moment I started to cry and to call my parents. They told me that that sound was the wind, so I calmed, but indeed they knew and I knew that the window was closed, so it wasn't the wind.

That's was my history, actually isn't very interesting (thanks teacher!!!) and it was more like a trauma to me haha (that I've overcome, of course), but like I said in the begining I don't remember other things. So I  really hope read your stories, I guess I'm going to enjoy them, because these themes are very interesting.

My future job

My future job is not to work haha.
As a dentistry student I hope to work in a few years more in a hospital or in something like that, in the public service. Maybe one day, I'm going to work in the Health Ministry haha that would be awesome. No matter in what I work, I hope have a lot of movement, been in a relaxed enviroment, and to have time to do other things too.

Torres del Paine, in the Magellan region 

I love outdoors, but in my career almost everything is indoors, so I think that to replace that I'm going to live in another region, with more vegetation. I'd be willing to move to the south of Chile, maybe to the Magellan region. Also, I think that in those places more health professionals are needed than in Santiago.
I would like to travel a lot in my job, maybe to go to seminars or conferences or even to work in another country (three years ago I met a dentist who was working in Asia helping children, that's very cool)
Also, I hope to have a good salary (this career has stolen much money from me haha), that can provide me money to travel and to do other things, like betting haha or to have classes of things that interest me (mosaic, sports, etc.)

In the future, I'd like to work in parallel in another thing but I don't know in what haha, but I refuse to spend all my life just as a dentist. I really love the career, I love to know that I can change the life of people with my hands, and give them new opportunities, but the trouble is that I like other things too, and I want to give myself time to do them too.

The best Concert Ever

Hi!!, today I'm going to talk about a concert that I liked.

The concert was last year, in November 20th at the National Stadium. In that occasion, I saw David Gilmour, it was an amazing experience.

David Gilmour was part of the band named Pink Floyd, a very famous band known for songs such as "The Wall" or "Shine on Your Crazy Diamond". He was specifically the vocalist and guitarist, actually, he had a brilliant guitar solo in Comfortably numb. Also, he is part of the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame".

During the event I felt great, everyone was singing. I always wanted to see Pink Floyd, but I never had the chance to see them, so, David Gilmour was the closest to the band that I could ever see. In addition, the show of lights was spectacular, with each song the atmosphere was different. I remember that in special,"Shine on Your Crazy Diamond", because a big white light was turned on during the chorus.

I went with my little sister, it was the first concert that we've ever gone together. It was nice because we shared the like for Pink Floyd, so I felt very comfortable, and closer to her (we aren't close every day haha).

I recommend that if you've never listened or heard about this band or its vocalist, listen to him. Maybe the first time you are going to think that is boring, because this music is a little different in comparison to the music that we usually hear nowadays. To me, it's music to get relaxed and travel through my thoughts hahah. I think that this kind of band is not something you'll like overnight, it's a taste you must acquire, you have to give it the opportunity.

Borneo

Hello!! Now that I'm english 4, I have to do do blogs every week again, so fun. This week I'm going to talk about  "A country I'd like to visit"

So, I've always wanted to visit Borneo, I know that I said that in my past blog, but it really is a place that I have to visit.

I want to visit this place, because when I was a little girl, I used to watch Discovery Channel and Animal Planet a lot, and they always show landscapes, different and beautiful animals, wild fauna in general. In one of those channels,  I remember that I saw a documentary movie about the orangutans that live there, and it really touched me, because their enviroment is being damaged and destroyed. Therefore, I can say that the need of travel to this island grew then, maybe my real passion is saving
the orangutans haha (when I was a child, I wanted to work in a place where the health of gorillas, chimpanzees are restored)

Despite of that I want to go there from long time ago, the truth is that I don't know much about the country. I know that is in the Southeast Asianthere is a huge jungle where the last wild Bornean orangutans live.

I don't know if I want work, study or live there, the culture could be very different, and big differences are difficult. Maybe, I preffer live in Borneo, (just a couple of months or years) could be a interesting and nice experience. I guess that there I will not work as  dentist, probably I will get (or learn) a job completely different. I don't know, anything can happen.
